#42 SOLD - Sadler teapot - Sporting scenes of the 18th Century - Fishing
This is a great teapot from Sadler, England, from the Sporting Scenes of the 18th Century. This one is 'Fishing'. Reg.Design 2005884. It is a colourful scene showing two gentlemen (judging by their attire) trout fishing on a stream bank. Lovely soft colour shades - excellent glaze. Gold gilt highlighting. The design is on both sides of the teapot and the teapot lid. Approximate measurements: Height = 17.5 CM (7") Width spout to handle = 19 CM (7 1/2"). Stamped beneath with details, including 'Staffordshire England'. There are some chips and a scratch on the underside (which can be seen in picture. The word 'Wellington' is also detailed. It is a very nice teapot and a collectable piece from the Sadler series.
